Prototype

I worked my butt off last night! I was able to print all of the boarding passes (again) as well as design, print, cut, and embellish the envelopes! Things sure do take a lot longer when you don't have a handsome helper with you (Chris was at work). Here is a prototype of the final. I still have to cut out all the passes and assemble with ribbon and logo. There was one thing I didn't think about: STAMPS! I hope I will be able to find a local place that makes custom stamps in time!

Well after making somewhere around 560 cuts on the cutting board, 280 round corner punches, and 140 detailing cuts by hand I looked at the tickets and remembered how neither Chris or I knew how to spell very well. Well apparently neither does spell check! Yup a typo. I guess recipt is really spelled receipt! Then I realized I didn't do what I planned on doing with the passenger seat assignments or the receipt numbers. So I will have to buy a new blade for the cutting bord since I wore it out and be thankful I bought extra ink on super sale during black friday! Still I have bought all of the supplies to do our own stationary for the wedding as well as the bridal shower and engagement party with less than $200! It would cost around $400 to have someone else do the boarding pass save the dates alone! So I will march my behind happily back to the drawing bord, slap on some more elbow grease and start over!

Well after an unsuccessful try and 2 ink cartridges, I finally got the 50 pages of save the dates out! I had the family technical support guy on call and my hunk by my side proofing every page. That's not to say that there wont be some misspells of names (neither of us are good at spelling) but they will look fantastic! all we have left is to cut, perforate, fold pocket holders, and assemble ribbon embellishments! Whew! 192 days to go!

Off to a rough start!

I finished designing some super cute STDs (save the dates) a while ago and bought all the supplies to DIY them. The shipment of card stock finally came in! Excited to actually have some tangible proof of momentum on the road to marriage, I headed over to the Sullivan's to use the printer. The first four (of many) came out beautiful! Then, without touching a thing, the next STDs were completely YELLOW instead of the brilliant pink! And the grey parts turned out blue! I tried several different things with no success. Plus the family's personal tech support guy was asleep. Greeeeat. We'll see if tomorrow will produce better results!
